Final Post: A Course Evaluation

Image
Hello everyone, I now announce you that our course has come to its end. This post will be a finale that I won't forget the rest of my teachings. Why? Because this was the first time I shared my efforts and works with everyone. I am happy and sorrow at the same time. I'm happy that I learned so many things that I didn't know and got close to my teaching career. However, it bothers me that the course is no more. But it's life and we move on! It was a course to remember. First, I didn't imagine that we would be doing all these tasks and assignments. It improved my creativity, collaboration and communication skills of 21st century learning. What is exciting about this course is that you get to learn what is technology to learning. Once you learn that how to integrate your technology knowledge and skills to the learning, you understand that the lessons would be much enjoyable and lessons are full of participation. I have learned that if we are to teach the generatio...

Infographic: Web 2.0 Tools

Image
Hi again, here we are with another post. This time, I'll give some infographics to you. What is Infographic? "An infographic is a collection of imagery, charts, and minimal text that gives an easy-to-understand overview of a topic." (Quoted from here ) Why Infographics? It provides brief information about the topic even if we have no idea what it is. Using visuals, charts, it can convey the message to us by summarizing the key points no matter how complicated the information is. It can also be used to compare two or more facts, options. And it can be used to increase awareness about a concerned matter. Thoughts I, as a prospective teacher, will try to use this tool. I said try to because I had no fun doing it, really. It was kind of boring compared to other projects we completed. Despite all the advantages it has, still I did it because I was assigned to. No one expects us to like everything right! My Infographic In my infographics, I tried to show Web 2...

Feed.me

Image
Hi everyone, here I am with another interesting tool that would change your web-life for good. Today, I'll be talking about RSS Feed, what it is and how to use it. Also, I'll show an example of a blog I'm following with an online RSS Feed Reader (by feeder.co ). What is RSS Feed? "RSS is simply an Internet technology standard that allows busy people to receive updates to web-based content of interest." (quoted from here ) RSS is a perfect tool for people who wants to be updated to the magazines, articles, news, blogs, or anything that is web-based but don't want to be subscribed to silly, annoying e-mail subscriptions. You can easily add a feed to your feed reader and remove it anytime with just a click. Plus, you'll be seeing and organizing all your new posted feeds in one place. RSS Feed Reader I had a knowledge about it before I actually have a research about it and personally use it to keep track of my favourite blogs. I came across with this ...

Digital Storytelling

Image
Taken from weebly Hi there, its not a surprise that I'll be publishing a new post. Today's topic is Digital Storytelling and I'll try to explain it briefly before I talk about the project we did with  Murat Süngünapsan which is a how to project, one of the three options. What is Digital Storytelling? "Digital storytelling at its most basic core is the practice of using computer-based tools to tell stories. There are a wealth of other terms used to describe this practice, such as digital documentaries, computer-based narratives, digital essays, electronic memoirs, interactive storytelling, etc.; but in general, they all revolve around the idea of combining the art of telling stories with a variety of multimedia, including graphics, audio, video, and Web publishing."  Taken from this site . Magazine Cover Project: OtakuTR

Image
Hi there! It's me again with another project which is assigned to us by our beloved course instructor. I highlight this because.. well you'll understand why.  I'll be talking about this online poster project and what I've experienced in the process of creating it. The Process of Creating  We have given two options to this project. One is movie poster book report project and the other one is magazine cover project. I have thought for some time to decide which one should I go into. Then I realized that I don't like reading books of any kind so how could I intentionally choose a project related to it. The aim was clear I was gonna create a magazine poster. Fortunately, it was all our choice to decide on the theme of the magazine. As I adore anime, I had to do a magazine cover originated by anime. Once I have decided the theme of the cover, it was time I start looking for any possible tool to help me. I found it quickly by just trying out some alternative sites...

Elllo: An ELT Website

Image
Hello again, today I will be introducing you with an ELT based website which is apparently asked by our course instructor that we find a website about ELT and evaluate it in according to the form she has provided. A long boring entry that was, wasn't it? All the websites I have looked into, I crossed with this site which looked quite simple and basic in terms of the aim of helping to students or teachers. It's basically a master key to students want to open all the doors to listening and reading, grammar and vocabulary. It provides hundreds of thousands of exercises, reading and listening passages, and materials to both students and teachers. However, my personal idea is that students would be benefiting more with the help of teachers' guidance and help. Let's have a wider look at what this website is all about.. ELLLO: English Language Listening Library Online Who is the author of the website? Well, the author is, Todd Beuckens, a qualified and over 2...

Padlet: For the Sake of Learning

Image
What is Padlet? Padlet is web tool providing its users as a bulletin. The users can use it to share texts, images and videos or even pdf files from any device they want. What is important for us is how we use it in classroom. It's quite amazing that so many people can post and make it as a digital board where learners share their thoughts freely without any hesitation. The Process of Our Group-based Padlet Project It was a little bit challenging for me as it was a group project and we were not allowed to do it individually. However, it was not a dreadful experience as I have expected it to be. I really enjoyed making research on the topic and posting it to a digital board where we can actually access so many information that others have also sahred. We have chosen the topic 'Climate Change' as it is a disturbing problem of our century and offered some solutions to reduce the effects of incresing carbon polluting. Is Padlet Helpful? Padlet is extremely helpful...
