Final Post: A Course Evaluation
Hello everyone, I now announce you that our course has come to its end. This post will be a finale that I won't forget the rest of my teachings. Why? Because this was the first time I shared my efforts and works with everyone. I am happy and sorrow at the same time. I'm happy that I learned so many things that I didn't know and got close to my teaching career. However, it bothers me that the course is no more. But it's life and we move on!
It was a course to remember. First, I didn't imagine that we would be doing all these tasks and assignments. It improved my creativity, collaboration and communication skills of 21st century learning. What is exciting about this course is that you get to learn what is technology to learning. Once you learn that how to integrate your technology knowledge and skills to the learning, you understand that the lessons would be much enjoyable and lessons are full of participation. I have learned that if we are to teach the generations of 21st century, we ought to do it in their way. I owe my new philosophy about 21st century learning to this course.
The Things I Loved the Most About the Course
What I really enjoyed in this course is obviously the podcast task. I enjoyed doing it. The process alone was fun and I love fun. We had a good time doing it with my friend Murat. We wrote the script we found the music and sing the song. That was more than a teaching strategy it was a way of creating your own product and it makes you happy to produce your own learning material. I can't wait to see how I'll manage to give my students these kind of tasks. What I did not Like Much About the Course?
I cannot say that I loved all the parts about the course and there are a few things in my mind. First of all, there were way too many tasks. I know they are in our syllabus and are for our benefit but again it was too many considering our other courses and assignments. Another thing is that I don't like group work for several reasons, fortunately those reasons did not occur in the padlet task we assigned. Finally, in some weeks we had to submit several tasks in one week and that was challenging.Suggestions to Next Students and the Course
My suggestion to the next students of this course is enjoy your lesson and get the most of it. Listen carefully to the Mrs. Kurt because everything she tells you will help you. Don't forget to have fun while learning and completing your assignments. My reflections to the course would be gratitude. I'm happy that I had a course in this matter. Today's learning is not the same as back in 80s. We needed the technology but not to use it barely in the class. To integrate it with teaching methods is what matters and I had the privilege to experience it this year. This course for the most part was the most beneficial, helpful course among all other courses I take.I would like thank Dr. Kurt for her kindness and her efforts to make us inspired. I enjoyed every minute of her lessons. I count myself so lucky to be in her course. I hope she would be giving us more courses in the coming years.
It was great to be here and share my experiences with you. I hope you enjoyed as much as I did. Hope to see you again..
