Feed.me

Hi everyone, here I am with another interesting tool that would change your web-life for good. Today, I'll be talking about RSS Feed, what it is and how to use it. Also, I'll show an example of a blog I'm following with an online RSS Feed Reader (by feeder.co).

What is RSS Feed?

"RSS is simply an Internet technology standard that allows busy people to receive updates to web-based content of interest." (quoted from here)
RSS is a perfect tool for people who wants to be updated to the magazines, articles, news, blogs, or anything that is web-based but don't want to be subscribed to silly, annoying e-mail subscriptions. You can easily add a feed to your feed reader and remove it anytime with just a click. Plus, you'll be seeing and organizing all your new posted feeds in one place.

RSS Feed Reader

I had a knowledge about it before I actually have a research about it and personally use it to keep track of my favourite blogs. I came across with this online reader called feeder by feeder.co and it was covering all my needs. It's easy to use and totally free. You can add your feeds with a customisation of changing the title putting it to separate folders, filtering to to find them with relevant feeds. You can also add the extension of feeder to your Chrome browser for quick access.

I will be sharing information about Film English as my favourite ELT blog.

Film English

This blog is created by Kieran Donaghy who is a freelance writer, international conference speaker and trainer. With this site idea and posts, he has won a British Council ELTons award in 2013 for Innovation in Teacher Resources. You can find more about him and his work at his website, here.
You can access to many resourceful ideas on how to plan a lesson with films. The idea was quite original and I had a look at it. In many topics and area there was a film/video and a lesson plan with it. His effort to bring this ideas to us is more than beneficial. I think it is an opening door to creative lessons, rescuing teachers and learners from boredom, ordinariness, and lack of imagination in our classes and learning environments.
Here is the short film that is shared for the lesson plan about disability and inclusion by Ian's Foundation

I suggest my fellow teachers this blog for the reason that it has many idealistic and creative ideas we can use in our lessons. I know it cannot be implemented to every lesson but surely can be used when going into a new topic. Think about it..!

I hope you found it useful. See you next time..
