Podcast for Fun? or Teaching?

Today, I will be sharing the process of making my very first podcast experience. Why we did it? What did we decide to do for our first experience? How did we feel about it in the process of planning and producing it? Any difficulties or struggles we encountered? All will be answered in this post.

It all started when our Material Design course instructor assigned us to create a podcast with our peers. When I heard about the term podcast in the class I felt like -I know it already, what's the big deal about it and why on earth we need that practice for? But of course, I had no idea how it could be integrated into learning environment. I didn't know that I could be able to do one by myself and I got nervous as I don't like the sound of my voice, I got even more nervous and I wanted to start and get it over with. However, when we come together with Murat to think about what to do we decided to make a song so we choose the cartoon character "Scooby-Doo" all that thoughts were gone. It was a bit challenging at first to write the lyric of the song but when it started to have a shape, we kind of enjoyed and took our time to have fun for a while.


The process of creating a podcast is whole lot easier than what I have imagined. Besides, it's a convenient and enjoyable and efficient way of creating activities for class. I would definitely use podcasts in my class and urge students to create for themselves too. I highly recommend it to any other teachers or learners to listen to podcasts in their interests and if possible, make your yourselves as well for further usage. It might come in handy somewhere in your life :)

When creating the podcast, first we searched for background music and come by to this YouTube video so we've used the audio from that video. We have recorded our voice while playing the music in the background then uploaded it to Soundcloud.

Hello everyone, I now announce you that our course has come to its end. This post will be a finale that I won't forget the rest of my teachings. Why? Hi there! It's me again with another project which is assigned to us by our beloved course instructor. I highlight this because.. well you'll understand why.  I'll be talking about this online poster project and what I've experienced in the process of creating it.
