A Teaching with Technology Statement

Technology is an essential tool to facilitate teachers' teaching methods and students' future goals. As a pre-service EFL teacher I will use the most of its benefits to improve their awareness of the technology they are using. Though, technology is not solely enough or an absolute problem-solving tool so that we can use it as a magic stick and problem solved. I think technology is not meant to be used just because it exists, and everyone uses it. Before working on which tools to use, in my opinion, a wide research must be conducted on it and a full-scale planning should be done.

I want my students to have an understanding of technology on how to use it for educational purposes. I want my students to develop a good writing skill as they create their blogs freely and not supressed by the classroom atmosphere. I want my students to be creative when they are recording their own podcasts to build up a well-developed speaking skill as well as their listening practices when listening various podcasts which are in their interest. I will be posting on one of the educational social platforms I will create assignments and have them access the contents I might ask them to complete anytime and anywhere.

I am aware that technology has its finest advantages however there might be some occasions where students might be fascinated and carried away from the tasks they are supposed to cover. In that case, I will ensure that they access to useful sources and materials in their benefits. I will integrate technology in my classroom by having all my students to have a fair and equal rights to access it. So that, none of them misses any participation and having same quality of opportunities.

I, as a candidate teacher, will be searching and providing good resources to further improvements and necessities to make my lessons more enjoyable. My goal is to find more efficient use of current technological advancements for days to come. I will make sure that I will not miss any new technological innovations. If I may say so, I will not leave any stone unturned while seeking better, more efficient, constructive, creative ways to enhance my lessons. I will also have them a digital courtesy when they are contacting people around the world by teaching them how to be a respected and respectful users in virtual platforms.

To finalize my statement, I will always keep in my mind that technology is not a destination to arrive or and outcome of the process but a very resourceful tool to make lessons more participative, students more enthusiastic and creative, teachers more distributive and guiding. And technology can help us make it happen.
